The best players in the world are ready to shine, as WTGL continues its first-ever season with Detroit’s Motor City Golf Club taking on Los Angeles Golf Club in primetime.

WTGL’s second match of the year begins at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The match will air on ION Television and is also available to stream on Tubi and Pluto TV.

This is the first match for Motor City Golf Club, one of five WTGL teams featuring the top players in the game - MCGC is also set to debut as a new franchise in TGL Season 3.

WTGL, founded in partnership with the LPGA, will bring the fast-paced, tech-infused style of golf to the women’s game at SoFi Center, where players hit into a massive simulator screen and chip and putt on the GreenZone - a fully-rotational putting surface that changes shape and direction based on the hole.

This will be the second match for Los Angeles, with LAGC teeing off in the season opener at 3 p.m. Sunday against New York Golf Club.

Detroit has the honors and is ready to roll with Jeeno Thitikul, Lexi Thompson and Ronni Yin filling out the lineup for the franchise’s inaugural match. Aki Iwai, Kiara Romero and Michelle Wie West are slated to go for Los Angeles.

Thompson has been committed to WTGL from the start and called the decision a “no-brainer” as a way to compete at a high level and help grow the women’s game in the process. Thompson is expecting her first child in February 2027 and will be competing while pregnant after playing a limited LPGA schedule the past two years.

The 15-hole match will begin with nine Triples holes as players take turns via alternate shot, while the final six holes are one-on-one as the action moves to Singles. Each hole is worth one point, but teams can increase the stakes by a point via the Hammer throw - teams will begin the match with three Hammers to throw at any time, at which point opponents can accept and continue the hole with increased stakes or decline and forfeit the hole.

It’s important for teams to put their best foot forward out of the gate, with four regular season WTGL matches slated for each squad ahead of the Playoffs beginning Dec. 20.
